The classified intelligence that President Trump disclosed to Russian officials during a meeting last week was provided by Israel, according to a New York Times report.
In the meeting with the Russian ambassador and foreign minister, Trump disclosed intelligence about an Islamic State terrorist plot involving the use of laptops on planes.
The Times report, citing a current and a former U.S. official, said at least some details of the terrorist plot came from the Israelis.
Israeli officials would not confirm that they were the source of the information that Trump shared.
In a statement emailed to The Times, Ron Dermer, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S., said the two countries would maintain a close counterterrorism relationship.
