Trump to sell US$21 billion arms to Qatar

On Wednesday, US defense secretary Gen. James (Mad Dog) Mattis and Qatari defense minister Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiya inked a US$12 billion arms deal in Washington.

We are pleased to announce today the signing of the letter of offer and acceptance for the purchase of the F-15QA fighter jets, with an initial cost of $12 billion dollars. We believe that this agreement will propel Qatar’s ability to provide for its own security while also reducing the burden placed upon the United States military in conducting operations against violent extremism,” read the Qatari defense minister’s statement.

Mattis also agreed to sell another US$9 billion worth arms to Qatar.

This arms deal came only a week after Washington blamed Qatari ‘royal’ of supporting terrorism by Hamas, Iran and Hizbullah against the Zionist entity and US allies in the region.
