Information, communication and electronic warfare command formed
Taipei, June 29 (CNA) President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) attended a ceremony on Thursday to mark the formal establishment of a new command in the Ministry of National Defense pertaining to information, communication and electronic warfare, according to a Presidential Office statement.
Accompanied by Defense Minister Feng Shih-kuan (馮世寬), the president said at the ceremony that the establishment of the new command indicated that “Taiwan’s national defense has entered an era of information warfare,” describing it as “a historic moment.”
The move is part of government efforts to bolter Taiwan’s information security capabilities, Tsai said, noting that an agency to manage information security has been established under the Cabinet and a special law on information and communication security has been drafted.
